What a fabulous book! I had so much fun reading Michelle’s novel, I am beginning to wonder if I should reread it and discover my own Inner Goddess. As Holly tackles her workbook journal, pondering all aspects of her life, she vows not to quit. The journey is rough, the Bordeaux is calling but Holly is determined to make it through this book. With her sarcastic, dry sense of humor, Holly had me laughing out loud countless times as she honestly answered the questions one-by-one as she unleashes her own Inner Goddess. With a weakness for alcohol and junk food, the exercises become more difficult for Holly to complete, which makes Holly do more soul searching and makes the book more amusing for me. The journey that Holly takes as she records her way through each chapter of the book, is difficult but Holly is determined to succeed. I loved her vigor to trudge through the book when at times all she wanted was a drink in her hand. Three children, a husband and her friends all get brought into the picture as tries to discover who Holly is. As Holly changes, she begins to see the world differently and the book begins to shift. Life becomes different and I loved how the author presented this change. This is truly a fantastic book. I will have to buy a couple copies for my friends, they will love it!
Thank you NetGalley for providing me a copy of this book.
“I enjoyed for the most part, everything I ate until I got to the curry, which is HANDS DOWN the most nuclear effing thing I have EVER put in my mouth.” (Holly having lunch with her yoga friends- expanding her culinary tastes)
“life’s journey is thousands of baby steps instead of one giant from A to B. The beginning and the end are not life - Life is the passage between the two.”
