My Never Ending List

The illustrations in this book are priceless.  I love anything scary and this book is perfect for that in-between stage for kids.  I read some of the stories to a fourth grade class yesterday and they laughed but I thought a couple of them would be a bit too scary for them so I just showed them the pictures and some of the kids thought they were "scary' so I guess you need to know your audience. They laughed through Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich and thought the story and the pictures where good. The witches in The Middlewich Witch-Watchers Club got some laughs. I think I scared some kids with the picture of The Invisible Man Gets a Haircut so I didn't even read that poem out loud even though I really liked it.  Perhaps I will try that one with older students.  The Lunchsack of Notre Dame was another favorite poem of mine and the pictures were great on this one too. So many great poems and pictures (Dracula, Wolfman, Bigfoot, Phantom of the Opera, Zombie,witches,etc.) inside this book, you can't go wrong if you are looking for something for that child in that in-between stage for scary Halloween books.
