My Never Ending List

Odd & True

Odd & True - Cat Winters
This novel was fun and entertaining. The story moved quickly and with gusto. I liked True’s apprehension and then later as the novel progressed, the fire that is ignited within her. I liked Od’s love for her sister and the determination that she had to succeed. I loved the variety of characters, their parts in the novel and their influence on the two sisters.

The history of the family gave the story a fantastic push, propelling the characters into a world where they were challenging themselves and facing their greatest fears. The handbag became central to me. Its history coupled with its lettering (which marked its beginnings), gave me hope as the sisters began their adventure. I feel that the author did a fantastic job with the descriptions in this novel.

True’s tea readings gave me a run for my money. I was over-analyzing the items she was observing in her cup, always thinking the worse. I loved how the sisters examined the different parts of their lives and reflected upon them, they were true detectives. It’s a novel of change as the sister’s relationship changed as the novel progressed and so did each of the sisters. This was an adventurous novel, a novel to have fun with and enjoy.

Using this novel for Halloween Bingo, my Monster's square.
