I read almost every genre & I enjoy venturing into unfamiliar territory. As a library volunteer, I'm constantly bringing home novels. Being a substitute teacher, I read lots of YA & children's books.
I volunteer on Saturday afternoons at our library pulling holds. Today our library was very busy when I arrived and many of the sections highlightening our new books were empty. It looked as if individuals were grabbing the books the staff had placed on the top shelf rather than look further down on the shelves below for more books for each of the genres. I proceeded to fill each hole with books that I had read or books that I intended to read and as my day went by, this became a game. The books kept disappearing on the top row and I kept refilling these holes for hours, something that haven't happen before. I've filled these holes before while volunteering at the library but never have the books disappeared at such an alarming rate. I felt like I had some type of magical powers today, or perhaps I was on camera. I was enticing these individuals to read the books I loved or felt deeply about, I was encouraging them and it felt wonderful.
