3.5 stars. It was an okay read. I thought it was a bit too much with all the reference to scripture through out the book. I know he is a pastor and knows his scripture but to have to repeat so much in the book was overwhelming. I liked the story and how the author showed his emotions in the story. He was not afraid of his image of being a pastor to show hostility to God and to be afraid of the unknown. The story had great flow and I enjoyed how Colton's story of his time spent in heaven unfolded throughout different episodes in his daily life the next couple months after he got home from the hospital and they did not make him replay his whole time spent heaven like an interrogation. The Epilogue was a strong asset to this book as it shows what type of people the Burpo's are and I liked the comment "we are bolder." This statement doesn't have to be applied just when a drastic event occurs, you just need to believe and have faith in what you are saying.The book gave me comfort and reassurance. I hope that is what it is like in heaven and since no one really knows, I live with this happy image in my head. Thanks!
