I had to read this book because I loved Jay Asher's Thirteen Reason's Why and I really thought I would love this book too. I have to say that I liked this book a lot but I did not love this book as much as I thought I would. I loved the topic and I loved the characters but I think the book was kinda choppy and not as deep as Jay Asher's other book and for that, I was disappointed. Jay & Carolyn did a great job incorporating many of the confusing thoughts and ideas that anyone would have had they stumbed into the computer portal of social media in 1996. In the book, Josh and Emma realize that what they do the present day affects their Facebook page, which is actually 15 years into the future and while that does look tempting, it does create a snowball effect for other events. It makes me think, it's like a magic mirror. They are controlling their destiny plus the other people around them. If there is one thing to take from this book, I hope this it: what you do effects others and not just yourself. I think if kids/people today realize this perhaps they might choose different behaviors. It was a fast read so I think it should be something you read and it just might make you think differently.
