My Never Ending List

The Night Circus

The Night Circus - It's all about surrealism and it carried a lot of descriptions when you open up world of Le Cirque des Reves. A magical circus where what you see is beyond your wildest dreams; like opening up a door in Wonka Land but for a traveling circus the dramatics are far more reaching. People travel specifically to see this spectacular sight hoping to be mesmerized by the sights and the sounds held within and no one leaves disappointed. I felt a bit overwhelmed as I read, for all the descriptive scenes played out in front of me. I no longer needed to think for myself or visualize what was occurring in my mind, the majority of it was on print on the pages set before me. Many times, I just had to put the book down as I felt I was on word-overload. This was the only disappointment I had with this dream world created by Erin. I would have loved to be a part of the Midnight Dinners and I cherished the relationships that Erin created within the pages of her book. It was quite the book with eccentric individuals and wild dreams. “It is important”….”Someone needs to tell those tales (stories, tales, bardic chronicles). Someone needs to tell those tales. ….There’s magic in that. It’s in the listener, and for each and every ear it will be different, and it will affect them in way they can never predict. From the mundane to the profound. You may tell a tale that takes up residence in someone’s soul, becomes their blood and self and purpose. That tale with move them and drive them and who knows what they might do become of it, because of your words.” (Widget talking to the man in the grey suit –the importance of Widget telling his stories to others.)
