This had many stories coming together and each had it's own elements that enlightened and made the story come alive but I had a hard time becoming emotionally charged with the story and that is why I only gave the story 4 stars. Don't get me wrong, the drama, the characters and the flow of the story was there, I think it was the writing style that left me feeling like I was missing some of the emotions that I should have been feeling. I felt real bad for Ethan Allen and I think stronger emotions should have triggered within me considering what happened in the book. It took me a while to read the book which is strange considering my reading habits, I should have devoured the book in a few hours. Sweet Olivia, it was a shame we did not get to hear more about her life with grandpa as they truly would have made a remarkable couple. The transformation of Ethan Allen goes to show the power of the human spirit. It really is a remarkable story and something you should read.
