I loved it! I devoured this book in one sitting after reading [b:Drums, Girls & Dangerous Pie|318404|Drums, Girls & Dangerous Pie|Jordan Sonnenblick|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1285381604s/318404.jpg|2129865]. Jeffrey was diagnosed with cancer when he was 4 years-old and in the previous book we were introduced to his family and how his life changed because of this life-altering event. In this novel we fast forward to Jeffrey being in the 8th grade and the drama continues with Jeffrey being the center of attention. Jeffrey’s world is falling apart and he doesn’t know how to hold it together. His older brother, who has been his rock throughout his life, has left college to “find himself” in Africa, his school has implemented standard testing to graduate into high school, a hot girl has entered his life which is a first for him and he gains a new best friend who has something up his sleeve that scares Jeffrey to no-end. This unknown world is too much for Jeffrey as he has no one to talk to as his brother is gone with no means of communication and then the counselor at school is feeding him candy. Jeffrey knows this candy trick can only mean one thing but is he willing to play along. Jeffrey must start to live and stop hiding.I laughed and then I cried. I knew what might happen next but I waited with anticipation. I loved the way the author made the characters come together. I loved the way Jeffrey thought and the way he interacted with other people in the book, I could almost see the characters come alive right before me. I highly recommend this YA book. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
