Rainie has some issues she is dealing with and she has taken to alcohol and prescription drugs to help combat these issues. Being a child advocate, she has seen one too many cases of child abuse which has pushed her over the edge so she is trying to escape the pain. One night, she is kidnapped and the reasons behind her kidnapping are questioned. Demands are asked and Rainie’s husband, Quincy tries to help the authorities crack the case. Being a FBI profiler, he has the ability to help but the case gets more complicated as a child gets abducted next and nothing seems to be going the authorities’ way. There seemed to be a lot of individuals being thrown into the mix as the police are led around the city on a chase that leads them chasing their own tails. I found myself enjoying the dialogue between the characters in the book, I don’t know what it was about it whether it was not played out in extreme detail or it was sharp but it was enjoyable. If you enjoy a lot of twists and turns in a book, this is the book for you.
