The cover is provoking and the characters are riveting and if there is one character I saw myself wanting to be it would have to be Sam. She’s had a rough life, but she was playing the cards that she had been dealt and she is dealing with life the best that she could. Being a single mom, driving tow truck at night while her four-year old sleeps and going to school part time to try to get ahead, is not ideal but she’s trying. She’s not looking for a handout, she’s proud of who she is and she loves her son dearly, what more can you expect. The author does a great job reflecting Sam’s mannerism in her actions, her language and also in the way she protects her son at all costs. But when she crosses paths with Daniel, her life is headed for more trouble then she thought imaginable and her life will never be the same. Sam and her son, Tyler find themselves on the run with Daniel and who they are running from has the reader turning the pages faster than you can imagine. Sworn off of men after her run-in with Tyler’s father, Sam and Daniel find themselves in some close situations and things get cozy before too long. Upon opening the book, the action takes off immediately and does not stop until the end and I finished this book in record time. The pace is fast and eventful, yet you never miss a step as you move along in the journey that Sam unfortunately had to be a part of. There is violence, there is love and commitment and if you are like me, you will be reading into the night wanting more of this book. You’ll also find romance which I thought was a bit too much for me. I’m in for a good romance just like anyone else but when it’s in excess and not really needed, then close the door and leave something for your imagination. The author could have just put a bit of romance in here and I would have really loved this book but this book was great without all the romance. Read it and decide for yourself.
