It began with a drowning and Ana is left with the voice of her dead twin Julia talking to her and haunting her until Ana has compiled a collection of psychologists. Julia was the favorite, the one everyone adored and the mystery behind why she did died, Ana is keeping to herself for now. Ana wants to move on with her life so she attends a summer school for the arts. Even though she knows that Julia will somehow make her appearance she hopes this trip will win her a scholarship so she can make something with her life. At the school, she falls in love. Yes, it happens almost instantly and things get crazy between her new roommate Norma, her boyfriend(s), the other students, and a hurricane. The whole premise behind the book had me hooked. We had Julia haunting her twin Ana and no one knows why Julia was killed, yet Julia wants revenge no matter what the costs and Ana is afraid of her. What is not to love about that! Then I looked at the cover and I knew this was a done deal. The book takes off and as a reader you have no idea how Julia was killed but you are dealing with the aftermath. You feel the emotions of Julia and Ana and realize they both are at odds with each other. Julia takes their relationship as a game now, sure that she is going to win….just waiting for the right time. Ana on the other hand, is hiding something and she is constantly on guard. This tall wall is built around her and there is only one way that she can keep Julia out and those few minutes are such a relief for her. When Ana goes to the summer school, Ana knows that she needs to succeed to keep Julia away and when she hooks up with Mark, I was floored. Was this a wall from Julia or really love? Then when Ana starts to like Noah next, I was beside myself thinking what ….really? I really liked Norma in the book and how she was her own person. When things were wrapping up at the end of the book, I was disappointed that everything is laid out for us readers. I wanted more and she was wrapping things up? The author had great writing style and ideas and I would have loved the author to give us, the readers pieces of the puzzle during the story, as that would have made the story more suspenseful and dramatic. I think the story could have been more, so much more had we, the readers, been dragged through the book instead of been told the story and how it ended step-by-step. I would like to read more by this author as she has great ideas.
