My Never Ending List

I couldn't finish it, it wasn't in the stars for me.

The Cuckoo's Calling - Robert Galbraith

I wanted to see what the hype was about this book so I waited to get my hands on
this book and then I dove right in.  I wasn’t immediately drawn into the book and in fact I read 149 pages and I was still waiting for the book to get interesting. What I did find out was that the book was drawn out in so many details and long sentences, I thought I was drowning.  Robin is a newly engaged woman, higher than a kite because of her new
status in life and she is the new secretary of Private Investigator Cormoran Strike.  Strike hasn’t’ had that much business lately but with his new case, his name will be plastered upon every newspaper and tabloid for miles.  When John Bristow asks Strike to investigate the death of his sister, supermodel Lula Landry, Strike takes the case as he needs the money to pay some outstanding debt.  What transpires next is a lot of talking, a lot of investigating which Strike hasn’t done in a while and calling in of old favors.   I enjoyed Robin’s take-charge attitude and her authoritative spirit.  Strike is
supposed to be the person in charge yet Robin acts likes heads above Strike.  Put the two of them together and I am not sure what might transpire but I cannot wade through the rest of the book to see.  It was just too slow and bogged down with language that made reading it tiresome and painful to me.  Who really cares if JK Rowling wrote
the book…come on folks do you read the book because it is a good book or because
of the author?  I read for enjoyment, to escape and to have a fun experience and well this…….was not fun for me

I can't rate it because I didn't finish it.
