Going in Circles

Going in Circles - Pamela Ribon Are you closed- lipped? Free spirited? Have a mother that mapped out your life and speaks her mind regardless of how it makes you feel? Have a pushy friend who sees the best in you and tries to bring it out in you? Inside the pages of Going in Circles, I was introduced to Charlotte who walked in many of these shoes. It wasn’t a easy stroll and definitely not something she wanted to take had she gotten the chance but in the long run, had I gotten the chance to ask her when it all was said and done, I am sure the end result was something she was proud she accomplished. As this story unfolds, Charlotte’s husband walks out on her after 5 months of marriage and she wants him back so bad, so when he arrives at the door weeks later she excited but later starts to have second thoughts. Later, she decides that she needs a time-out and leaves only this time, time stretches and she starts to do some soul searching. Everyone has a plan for her life and they are not afraid of telling her what that destiny is but Charlotte does not know what her own destiny is. An individual at work becomes her best friend and she learns more from her than she deemed possible. The sport of roller derby for a non-athletic girl has some humorous lessons and wake-up calls for Charlotte as she” finds herself.” She must address some issues before she can move on, not push them under the rug but confront them. Roller derby, her friends and her new inner strength must help her learn to deal with life. Great chic lit.
